I'm currently running for office to represent the 3rd ward of St. Louis City. Ward includes neighborhoods such as Gravois Park, Dutchtown, Mount Pleasant, and Carondelet. In that run for office, I think that the best way to engage with the community is to get people connected and understand how who people are is linked to how they feel about things, and the best way to get to people to build coalitions is to meet them where they are.
Recognize diverse gender identities in official documents :
Implement gender-expansive documentation policies to respect and accurately represent the identities of transgender, intersex, and non-binary individuals in all official records. (at city, state, and federal level)
Ban intersex reassignment surgeries for minors:
Ban non-consensual medical interventions for intersex minors
by contrast permit soley interventions that are enacted through informed consent of parent, child through psychological evaluation
Protect Trans, nonbinary, and Intersex youth in school:
To prepare students to be socially competent publicly funded K-12 school programs must have age appropriate cultural competence learnings to better equip students to mitigate the effects of bullying based on gender.
Lobbyist Influence:
Lobbyists from both political parties, representing interests that profit from the production and sale of advanced weaponry, exert pressure on lawmakers to increase military spending, ensuring their continued profit at the expense of other national needs.
Self-Perpetuating Cycle:
Defense contractors and arms manufacturers reinvest profits into lobbying efforts, creating a cycle that prioritizes military expenditure over social programs, education, and infrastructure.
